Rap Lyrics

There’s a brand new local rap track playing on Sky Radio, “A Letter to the President” from a Liberian called Alonzo Abassi (sp?) in a mid-90’s 311/B.I.G. keyboard slowjam style. Cheesy, but it represents a big show of support for the Iron Lady. Some lyrics:

To Her Excellency Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf/Iron Lady/Hello Ma’/ What we need is a change/We’ve been treated like slaves for so long/by these fake politicians/Just keep your head up/do your thing and take us to the top/You can make it, Ma’/’cause Liberians got your back/we trust you, that’s why we voted for you

That's sweet!

Do you know where her house is? Is it downtown? Have you seen the old president's mansion yet? I read that it's all jacked up.

someone pointed out where she lives, but i haven't seen the actual house. the executive mansion (white house type place) is HUGE, across the street from the congress building, and does need a paint job. both appear to the naked eye to be kind of poorly guarded, but i know the iron lady travels with extremely well armed guards, some of whom are americans on loan. one of the papers was complaining about having americans in those jobs yesterday. they had a picture of this terminator looking dude with weapons all over his body and a US flag patch on the front page.
